Meet our family
Our daughters, Jorden and Jenna have been raised with Shar-Pei all their lives. They also have a great love and appreciation for the breed, as they have their own. Tait (Jenna's fiancee) is continuously learning about the breed and enjoying all the dogs and their different personalities. Weston has become a great assistant at Nixon Wrinkle Ranch and enjoys playing with the dogs and any little jobs he can do to help. They all have great input in our plans for breedings and our dogs as they both have plans to continue with the breed and our breeding program.
Our journey with the Shar-Pei breed
For over 30 years, Shar-Pei have been a cherished part of our lives. About seven years ago, with the invaluable guidance of fellow Shar-Pei breeders, we embarked on the exciting path of exhibiting our dogs at Canadian Kennel Club Dog Shows. After each of our dogs achieved Championship and Grand Championship titles, and thorough health testing was completed for every breeding dog in our program, we began breeding. Our greatest reward comes from seeing the joy our Shar-Pei bring to other families. When people exclaim, "I've never met a Shar-Pei!" and leave with a smile after a few pets and perhaps a friendly nose-smush, it fuels our quest: to help more people discover and enjoy this wonderful breed and ensure they become more widely known. We believe in purposeful and selective breeding to better the breed, always taking every step to produce the next generation of quality Shar-Pei. We also ensure each puppy is raised in our home using the Puppy Culture Program to guarantee a sound temperament for their new families.
Beyond the expected: Our unique approach
While health testing and the Puppy Culture program are cornerstones of our breeding philosophy, we go above and beyond to ensure our puppies stand out. We actively participate in "Meet The Breed" events, Breeder's Village, and various dog training workshops, where our dogs thrive on interaction. Our Shar-Pei are well-known in our communities, often seen on walks, in our vehicles, and even visiting local hardware stores. They bring comfort and joy during visits to hospice and retirement homes, and are active participants in community events. For most litters, we host a "Puppy Picnic" for their families, neighbours, and anyone interested in the breed. This provides invaluable socialization for the puppies and a wonderful opportunity for people to learn about the Shar-Pei firsthand. We are proud club members in good standing with the Canadian Kennel Club, The Chinese Shar-Pei Club of Canada, and The Grey Bruce Kennel and Obedience Club.

Our passion for Shar-Pei is deeply rooted in their incredible qualities. They are exceptional dogs, offering many wonderful characteristics that benefit families. Shar-Pei are renowned for their loyalty, making them devoted companions. They are alert and aware, quick to notice if something or someone is out of place, offering a sense of security. We strive to produce temperaments that are dependable, and confident. Our goal is to breed Shar-Pei that are curious and stable, yet playful and cuddly. We are passionate preservationists of exceptional quality, wonderfully tempered, and healthy Shar-Pei. We hope our transparent approach and beautiful story resonate with prospective adopters.
